whimbrel 1
cormorant 5 inc 2 adults
short eared owl 1
golden plover 11
snipe 1
common sandpiper 4
stonechat 1 pair

In all seriousness though, keep putting the hours in at Green Withens. You can make a great circular walk starting from Blackstone Edge, via the "Roman Road", then the concrete pond you mention, then returning via Green Withens itself.

There was a fascinating series of flashback articles in the Courier recently about a reservoir keeper's family who were snowed in at Green Withens - the daughter now lives at Withens Res.
