Morning all
I have seen at least one pair of Stonechats on Norland Moor most mornings over the last couple of weeks and thus assuming a breeding pair ? Same situation with a pair of Reed Buntings, again possibly a breeding pair ?

Interesting invertebrates around on the moor at the moment (apart from a few micro moths) are Green Tiger beetles, Cincadela campestris. This is the only site in Calderdale I have ever seen them and they can occur in some numbers in a good spring/summer. The larvae live in long vertical burrow and prey on any insects unfortunate to wander over their jaws which rest in the tunnel mouth and snap shut on prey items.
