kevin

saw a kestrel on the way home today having a go at the swallows. we call him kevin if your wondering.
in addition to this we also had a sparrowahwk in our garden my first pics comin up (the sparrowhawk dosent have a name) he occasional comes to my garden but today stalked in the bush and stayed for about 20 mins. he didnt catch anything although he tried. the reason i dont take many pics is because i only have a digi camera and no scopes (might get a few through binoculars though)

We must be careful discussing nesting on the blog as many species, even commoner ones, are under very real threat from eggers. We know for a fact that egg collecters are active in Calderdale. It's fair to say that the species you would expect to breed in that sort of habitat have a strong chance of doing so. I'm sure one of the Soil Hill regulars could let you know more away from the blog if you want.
