Goldeneyes at Cromwell Bottom

Excellent views of 5 male Goldeneye displaying to a couple of females on the water skiing lake. Even from the canal towpath they can be clearly seen moving along the lakesides, heads continually thrown back and then submerging again. 2 or 3 seem the normal number in winter, but so many males together make quite a stunning sight.

Hi Mike
They were not visible at 8am this morning, but there again Les and I would have needed a nightscope to spot them its that dark on a morning at the moment ! I will let Les know as he keeps tabs on any Goldeneye that appear. Are the two immature Mute Swans stiil on the ski Lake ? I spotted them on Tuesday after the flooding on Monday and assumed they had been driven of the calder somewhere, but I have not seen them since.
