Urbane Birds?

I was looking up at Square Chapel spire today, to see any sign of Peregrines (none) when I noticed a Carrion Crow go to its nest in the Sycamore there. Possibly from the family one of which sat cawing on top of the Piece Hall Roof while we were waiting for "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to start a few years back, adding an extra a bit of Shakespearean atmosphere to the scene. _______________

Gordon Yates, the bird film maker from Rochdale, told us the local authorities in Lancashire have persuaded Peregrines to nest in more than one place simply by fixing trays of gravel in high places.
