Moorland Visit

Monday 7pm - 9pm
70 starling.
4 mistle thrush
2 goldfinch
4 curlew
1 oystercatcher

1 common sandpiper
1 stock dove
8 kestrel
3 common buzzard. They soared together and 2 of them landed for a few minutes but didn't appear to be eating anything.

2 short eared owl. One of them took exception to a kestrel hunting in the same area. It flew up behind and above the kestrel but before it attacked (assuming it was going to) the kestrel descended and then moved off. It didn't appear to have even noticed the owl.

2 tufted duck
30 canada geese
2 red grouse
1 meadow pipit

Some cracking shots there Ian and what a few hours birding! I am away next week but wouldn't mind accompanying you one evening if its OK - haven't seen any buzzards locally yet and never such a good view of a shorty.
