House Martins still nesting

Yesterday, Monday,
well grown young still in nest and three flying birds at Bowers Mill, Barkisland.
This is on Branch Rd. Great cafe there, good food and cheap, unfortunately not open weekends.

Bats.
Someone mentioned bats recently. If anyone is interested, Hugh Firman, Chair of the Yorkshire Bat Group, and Chief Conservation Officer for Calderdale, is giving this month's talk with powerpoint presentation at Halifax Scientific Society. His title is "Bat Conservation in West Yorkshire and what we can do to help them". Open to the public, 7.00 for 7.15, downstairs at Halifax Central Library, Northgate.
