Gorple Lower and Upper

Met Jim Welford while walking at Gorple this morning who said he'd come hoping to see the Whimbrel, but no luck so has probably moved on. Jim said he'd seen 2 Grey Partridge earlier. Also seen:
Curlew - 5
Common Sandpiper - 7
Oystercatcher - 3
Lapwing - 2
Wheatear
Tufted Duck
Greylag Goose - 3
Canada Goose - 14
Mallard - 4
Skylark - 2
Meadow Pipit - 4
Before we parted we helped a lamb to get out of the reservoir run-off channel and back to its mum - well, I say helped - we climbed into the channel and as soon as the lamb saw us it managed to jump out!

Nice to meet you Jeff.

Didn't want shooting by the farmer! Poor little beggar was starving! Saw it at 06:00 and it hadn't got out by 09:00 so it was a mercy mission. Thats my excuse anyway.

Saw 6 pairs of Common sandpiper and witnessed the gang rape of a mallard by 4 ducks, shocking.
