That looks like a better day Jeff and a nice photo of the Nuthatch too. I think the Atlas work is really interesting and it's good to be able to contribute in such a positive way to a national survey.
Hi Jeff - I just brought to mind a walk I did 3/4 years ago from Stoodley Pike to Warland Res'r along the ridge(mid May I think on a perfect day). I havn't been in a better area for Skylarks, they were all over the place singing and feeding young. I hope it will still be as good this year as it was then for them. I think Andy Cockroft also found it to be a great area for breeding Skylarks.
Looks like a good perambulation Jeff. Always good to see nuthatch in these parts.
I believe this is a stronghold for Skylarks Dave. Every year I've lived here there have been a good number of Skylarks up on the ridge and moors between The Pike and Gaddings Dam. I hope this year will continue that happy trend but they are a bit late returning - hopefully the bad weather is the cause and they'll turn up in good numbers as usual.
