Westborough Drive

A Brambling on our garden fence this morning - the first we have seen here. It flew off into Warley Road park - which we adjoin. There were some Chaffinches around so may have been in a mixed party.
There was also a small (10-15) party of Redwings (which we get often) in the park. As we watched a large flock of geese flew over (c.100 perhaps - not much good at estimating numbers), going roughly westwards in more or less a V formation. I presume they were Pink-footed geese.

Nice one with the Brambling, Bill. Not been many about this winter so its nice to get one in the garden. Nice one with the geese too, always a special sight. I have the same problem with counts (I tend to over estimate)- a digital camera is a big help, then count them afterwards (but my camera is never handy when I want it!)

Good sighting Bill. We have one, sometimes two, Brambling in our garden at the moment and it/they are always seen with Chaffinches around.
