I haven't seen any Redwing up our end of the Calder Valley yet Dave. I see they've been arriving in numbers but they haven't visited our hills yet - or at least I haven't spotted them which is probably more relevant!

Perhaps they went over high Jeff - they will be back for the holly berries !(they are loaded round Luddenden and Shibden valleys)

I hope so Dave. Lumbutts chapel church yard has several holly bushes laden with berries and the cloughs running down into the valley are also looking good too. I went out looking for Redwing and Fieldfare (and Brambling) this morning but only saw Mistle and Song Thrushes, but it's still early as far as sightings are concerned up here. Saw loads of Brambling on the East coast over the weekend so that heightened my hopes that some may appear here.

Jeff - I had 25-30 very mobile redwing feeding on berries at the edge of Jumble Hole yesterday morning, and they flew off west towards your area. They're on their way!
