Shibden - Saturday 11/12/10

7 moorhens in the park along with 70 blackheaded gulls.

Large flocks of redwing and fieldfare on the hillside between the park and Southowram. The best spot to watch from is from the footpath up Pump Lane, which runs from Shibden Hall Croft up to Barrowclough/Dark lane. They are pretty flighty but I settled in at the side of the track and within half an hour they had moved back into the hawthorns above the track.

It's nice to know the Redwings are still around. Although I saw 17 at Callis Wood recently, these are the only ones I've seen in the last month.
