Luddenden Foot etc

We walked along the river this afternoon along the cycle-way to Mytholmroyd and returned on the canal. At least it was less foggy in the valley than on the tops !
A pair of Dipper were along the river along with 1 Kingfisher, 1 Grey Wagtail and 3 Goosander as well as Grey Herons.
35 B H Gulls, 1 Common Gull and 1 L B B Gull went over heading east and that was about it.

I was there Tuesday late afternoon. There seems to be an increase to 7 nests, but I could be certain of only 4 occupied.
There was already one bird of the year out on the branches, looking dark grey. Before the leaves have come out!

A dog walker convinced me there were more nests higher up on the Sowerby side at a dam, so I slogged up there, but could find neither a dam nor any more heron nests.
