ROUGH-LEGGED BUZZARD

The Rough Leg at Buckstones Moss showed very well today, many thanks to Tim Walker for the lift. Found yesterday by Roger Ranson it was picked up again mid morning and showed on and off all day. The bird is just in the Huddersfield area, but if you stay long enough it occasionally strays into Calderdale and so tickable to any Calderdale birders. More photos to follow later on Heavy Birder blog.

Hi Nick,

Where abouts is Buckstone Moss? Is it near Marsden?

Hi Muxy, grid ref 012 137 south pennines map. View from A640 opposite Buckstones House. Follow the road past Ringstone Edge over the Motorway with Scammonden on your left. Keep going until you join the A 640. dont park in the big layby but go a little further and view from the next pull in opposite Buckstone House which is being renivated.

Thanks Nick, I know exactly where you mean. Will no doubt have gone by the time I get chance to have a look. It would be my first anywhere never mind a Calderdale list.
