Mixenden Res and Soil Hill

1 Goosander on Mixenden this morning then I called at Soil Hill to see if I could manage the 5 Snow Buntings which Geoff saw up there earlier. No luck for me but NK managed one late morning.

can somebody point out where soil hill is? not seen snow bunts yet!

Hi Andy. Go up A629 Keighley Road towards Ogden. Instead of turning left on to Ogden Water turn right on the opposite side of the main road - Syke Lane.

100m on Syke Lane take a left and go up the steep hill (Ned Hill Road)to the very top. Where the road levels off go on about 100m and park on roadside.

Walk up the rough track towards the big mast on your left. There is an extensive area of rubble filled land and this is where they hang about. The best spot is the bare area just right of the mast but they can be anywhere on the top and can be hard to find while at other times they can be creeping around close by without flushing!

Hope you find it - and them. Be forwarned it might be a welly job.
