Barnacle Geese

Happy New Year everybody and what a start, heavy rain all day!

However passing Widdop this afternoon 23 Barnacle Geese were a nice surprise along with 2 Canada Geese (don't see many of those up there in winter) and with a flock of c80 Fieldfare struggling through the rain

I think 37 at Lighthazzles on 17th September 2009 were the last large flock locally (JC) so thats a good record Martyn.
