Soil Hill

From yesterday early morning, a Whimbrel over Soil Hill from Bruce.
Interesting  from Birdguides -  a count of 971 from 6 sites in Lancashire yesterday. We might expect more records from our area but they are few and far between for Calderdale, unfortunately !

I had a small Curlew over the house on wens evening, unluckily I was inside so no call and had to let it go............

Interesting, I also had brief views of a small numenius flying west through derby delph quarry yesterday. Was trying to postively id it at the time but couldn't get enough on it to say either way. It was also definitely flying somewhere rather than round in big circles as all the curlews are doing at the moment.
